Am I Pregnant?

If you think you might be pregnant it’s probably a good idea to take a pregnancy test to find out for sure.

If you got a ‘Not Pregnant’ test result and you still suspect you might be pregnant, we recommend that you take a pregnancy test again. If you tested before your period was due, the levels of pregnancy hormone in your urine may not have been high enough to be detected yet. We recommend you test again when your period is due. If your period is overdue, test again in 3 days time. If this test gives you a ‘Not Pregnant’ result and you still have not had your period, we recommend you go see your doctor.

As soon as possible you should make an appointment with your doctor to advise him/her that you are pregnant. You will be given a care plan with an outline of the timing of the appointments you need to keep, including blood tests and ultrasound scans. The exact timing of these appointments will vary depending on whether it is your first pregnancy or not and how medically fit you are.
